Ruger LCR--my first impressions today.

Ruger has come out with a Hybrid Plastic/Steel revolver in an effort to drop weight and capture a peace of the self defense revolver market.

I introduce the Ruger LCR Light Carry Revolver.

I picked one off the shelf at the local firearms store and looked it over.

My impressions are its a nasty, Butt Ugly, Top Heavy Bastard.

Didn't like any part of it. Didn't appreciate the Weight distribution--all weight up front and on top. This can only be magnified when loaded.

Its 13oz. Which is very light but, and Air Weight is about the same.

The shaved down cylenders were very funky for me to even look at. I like the customary fluted cylender on a revolver. I do not even like unfluted revolvers. They make or break a revolver visually for me. (I'm a freak)

Grip was bigger than a J-Frame so it would probebly be easier to hold onto if you have that as an issue. I don't, so, its a waste and, they again look primitive.

Big trigger guard---the photo above shows the J-frame under this and you can see the difference. This can be a positive if your wearing gloves. Come to think of it the weight forward barrel heavy aspect could all work tword your advantage with gloves.

Don't touch one in the spring, summer or, fall IMHO.

Just sayin

It's a pocket gun for point blank work.

No one should see it anyway.
